The use of these more mature plants creates a challenge to the designer and the landscaper because although they give the desired effect they require a great deal more care, especially in the first three or four years until the plant has broken out of it’s root ball and established.
The cost of replacement of any of these plants is high and therefore it is essential that correct watering is undertaken right from the start.

Landscape Irrigation System
If a client asks you back time after time as his garden develops and changes then you must be doing something right, so when one of TerrAqua’s clients decided on a 3rd major redesign on his garden and he asked TerrAqua to redesign the irrigation system to accommodate the changes it gave us a great sense of pride.
The changes proposed on this development of the garden were larger lawned areas which entailed the removal of some large trees that provided a screen from houses that overlooked the garden. To ensure privacy was maintained a hedge of 5m yew trees was to be planted and as this was an expensive undertaking it was essential that the yew hedge was irrigated along with the extended lawn area.
TerrAqua redesigned the irrigation system which involved the re-routing of pipes, the addition of extra solenoid control points, the creation of new irrigation zones and all with out having to replace the existing infrastructure.
The Yew hedge was irrigated by using Naan Sprayers on spikes with one 33 lt. per hour sprayer per tree. The use of the sprayer rather than drip ensured that the whole of the area covered by the root ball was watered so ensuring the roots were watered evenly. The soil type (sandy) precluded the use of deep drip as the water would have drained to rapidly if this had been used.
To date the success rate for survival is 100%.
